When the DC Office of Planning came to BLANK for a “Green” design of their green building guide, we knew we could deliver. We have always embraced ways to reduce, reuse & recycle and this project allowed us to utilize simple techniques and rethink standard go-to practices to meet the challenge. Yes, soy inks. Yes, recycled paper. Yes, FSC certified printing. But we also, reduced the overall amount of paper used, avoided glues and removed “vanity” printing add-ons and designed the overall package for easy updating and expansion without having to reprint the entire guide. In the end, the graphic development, production and long-term footprint of this guide practiced what it was preaching to its intended audience.
